No, you do not have to use one of the AMSOIL Ea oil filters, however I would highly recommend doing so if there is one available for your vehicle. The AMSOIL Ea oil filters are the absolute best on the market, with an efficiency of 98.75% at 15 microns, they keep your engine as clean as possible. They also last as long as the AMSOIL motor oil, if you do use a standard oil filter you will have to change the filter at the given recommendation, normally every 3,000 miles. This means that if you use a standard filter you will be changing the oil filter and topping off the oil every 3,000 miles, and you will not be getting the level of filtration either.
That being said, if you must use a standard filter, I would highly recommend using the Wix filters, which can be purchased in the online store. They are quality made filters, which will provide good value if an Ea filter is not available for your vehicle, or if you choose to use the XL motor oils.
